When the pandemic started, no teacher or students could predict the constant changes it would bring to our lives in and out of the classroom. The learning situation changed daily from virtual, back to in person, hybrid (half in and half out) depending on the spread of COVID. It was a huge challenge emotionally, intellectually, and physically.
An air purifier will add an extra layer of protection for all students whether they are vaccinated or not and choose to wear a mask or not.
I am excited that we are back in person, but I want to make sure I can offer a safe learning environment for all.
All we want is for our school year to be back to normal, but that is just not the case. My school board has voted to allow the vaccinated to opt out of mask wearing if they can show proof of vaccination or claim religious or health exemptions. COVID is still transmissible even if you're vaccinated according to the CDC.
I am grateful for all the decisions that the school board made during the the pandemic last school year, but the bottom line is they can't afford to put air purifiers in every classroom to give the teachers and students peace of mind.
I will continue to wear a mask at school and protect my students the best I can and I know that added protection of the purifier will help.
