These kids have struggled to navigate a pandemic and it is incredibly helpful for them to be doing hands-on math activities that will help raise their competencies. Getting to play together and interact will help develop appropriate social skills and they will develop more meaningful relationships.
My students are behind in math because of the last few year's schedule with Covid. These math tools will help catch students up and get them on grade level. My hope is that with these materials that they will be motivated to learn and practice math facts while simultaneously engaging with their peers. This will help prepare them for upper grades.
I also have a number or students who have been diagnosed with ADHD which is why I added the wobble chairs to my classroom. This will be a great way to accommodate their IEPs in allowing them to move as needed.
