Several times a day in math classes, students are asked to do complex calculations. While some students are able to do these calculations in their head, many of them will need to rely on calculators. There are several online options, but nothing is as good has having a real calculator in your hand. I would like my students to be able to have a uniform set of calculators. This will allow me to tailor my lesson towards their equipment, and reinforce the concepts I am teaching. When the students know how to use the tools they are given, their results will grow.
