As the reading specialist at my school, I work with small groups of students who need extra support building foundational reading skills. My students range in grade level and come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share a common goal: to become confident, successful readers. Each day, I create a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment where struggling readers can take risks, grow, and celebrate their progress. I use a variety of strategies and resources to meet each student at their level and help them develop phonics, fluency, comprehension, and a love for reading. Because I work with small groups throughout the day, having access to high-quality, targeted materials makes a big difference.
