I am a teacher from the Philippines and I arived to the US to teach first grade March, 2021. Unfortunately my first experience was teaching virtually to the students. During this time, I noticed that students struggled with reading. So, I was eager to get in the classroom and teach face to face and share books wtih them. To my dismay and the students', our class library was limited in the number of books in the classroom. The ones we had were not very well cared for. This project will allow us to have a diverse set of books that will give students the opportunity to practice their reading and to use all of their senses to experience the printed word. Books Alive will bring stories to life for my students and make my teaching experience a memorable one. Any help is most appreciated.
