Support Mrs. Sloan's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Whether in the classroom or if we return to distance learning at home, having access to tangible books to read as a whole class for novel studies and access to technology to integrate artistic expression, will make a positive difference in students' learning. Our class does not have class sets of these 3 novels we will be studying this school year. They are Hatchet, Percy Jackson, and The Breadwinner. Having a class iPad and Apple TV for instruction will allow us to use photos and videos for class projects and share our works of arts to truly shine this school year! With these books and technology, students will be empowered to express their learning from the novel studies and other lessons through music, dance, and the arts. Our green screen is already set up in the classroom, and we’re waiting for an iPad to start capturing our learning in action. Everyday after lunch my students will be reading these books for our novel study. When you walk into my classroom, you will see each student reading with a book in their hand as well as listening to me read; and this supports using multiple modalities of learning. Alan Bennet stated, “A book is a device to ignite the imagination."
