Our school is based in a rural Northern Hawai`i area. This year we were unable to obtain funds to support our students. Our school is a Title 1 school and most of the students could not afford a lot of the materials that are required for all of their classes. The basic school supplies I will be giving to my students so they can feel prepared and successful at home and at school.
I work with Special Education students and they need additional supplies such as appropriate fidget toys, personal whiteboards to work on math and writing, and noise-cancelling headphones when they are feeling overwhelmed.
I also am in several inclusion classes. We will utilize these PPE and school materials in our science and social studies classes!
