My wish is for all of my students to share the love for reading that I formed in my elementary school years. I wish to create a classroom library that features exciting and engaging books that appeal to not only the academic needs of my students with books on their reading level(s), but also to incorporate books that will appeal to my students in such a way that they feel as though they are represented and understood in more ways than one.
A good classroom library is one that supports students literacy learning, but a great classroom library is one that welcomes all learners despite their academic levels, interests, race, and nationalities. The inclusion of engaging and exciting books will provide my students with a deeper understanding of what they're reading and will allow them to practice reading skills that are taught and practiced in our classroom. My top priority is having each of my students feel excited about reading every day. Funding this project will help me create my "dream library" for my students and will give them the opportunity to interact with books that they can become passionate about!
