As a first-year teacher, building a classroom can be a difficult task. I wish to create a room that my students will love after their long-awaited return to school. Currently, my room does not have white boards on the walls. I want to give my students whiteboard spaces for them to gather information and collaborate with each other.
My teaching philosophy focuses on the classroom as a community. This means that we create together. The chart paper will help to create classroom expectations, anchor charts, and student-made materials to be hung around the room. I also want my classroom to have many areas for the students to get away from their desks and learn in the environment that is best for them. This means providing them with different areas to sit and work. The rug will create an additional area in my classroom where my students can do this.
