I will now be able to download the programs on phonological awareness and phonics that have been donated to my classroom and project the lessons. My students will no longer have to do black and white Xeroxed paper/pencil lessons. The requested technology will allow all my students to see and hear the learning activity in color and interact with the peers. All my students benefit from the extended learning opportunities of seeing, touching, tracing, and saying the individual sounds of the letters of the alphabet. The next step will be putting the individual letters together to make a word.
The requested technology will provide my students with rich and engaging language activities as the programs are interactive. They will be able to look at the screen and provide answers and share their work to everyone. I am so looking forward to watching each student show / demonstrate their learning. It is a joy to watch them succeed. Grade level vocabulary words, writing, and spelling, are too challenging for all my students. Having this technology will enable them to maintain their focus and complete the assigned individualize work.
The materials I am requesting will create a love of reading. My students will also enjoy reading their short passages/stories to their parents.
