The materials in this project will make a difference in my students' learning because it will give them a variety of books to choose from. Students need to feel connected to what they are reading in order for them to enjoy reading. By providing books that are interesting to a wide range of students I can help foster their love for reading for pleasure. Students also need more support with math and as a new 6th grade teacher coming from Kindergarten I am starting from scratch which is both exciting and terrifying. So far the group of students I have this year are amazing and they need a lot of support in math. With these math manipulatives I hope that giving them a chance to do hands on activities will make these difficult concepts a little easier to grasp.
