Building a classroom library will help me create a print-rich learning environment and will provide my curious and intellectually hungry students with a diverse library of books to choose from for independent reading. Regular, self-selected reading is crucial to strengthening reading skills and building a lifelong love of books. I have selected books that reflect my students' diverse backgrounds and that I know will appeal to their varied interests. These new books will enable my students to grow academically, broaden their perspectives, and connect with stories that speak to their experiences.
