This year, I want to give my students the supplies they need for interactive notebooks in my biology classes. Interactive notebooks are so much more than just a way to take notes!
Students will take notes on brightly colored paper that is folded into a variety of graphic organizers to help them process and digest the information they learn. These graphic organizers help students to construct their own understandings and reading of concepts that so often can seem abstract when they can't be seen with the naked eye. These graphic organizers keep students engaged and actively involved in the note-taking process! After the organizers are made, students will glue them into their notebooks so they can be used for review throughout the school year. Boring notes are out! Interactive notebooks are in!
