In third grade students are transitioning from picture books to chapter books. One of the ways to help students make this transition is through the use of chapter books.
However, my classroom library is currently lacking chapter books that catch the attention of my third grade students.
The reason for this is that the characters in the stories do not reflect the lives of my students. I created this project to hopefully solve this problem.
In this project, I included very diverse books such as Zoey and Sassafras, Sadiq and the Fun Run, and biographies of Black leaders and activists. Please help support my students to feel represented in the books they read.
