Students would pick their flexible seating at the start of every week. Students will have access to lap desks, cushion seats, stools, and fidget bands. Students who have the wiggles, may choose a cushion seat to help them concentrate at their desks. Students that have a hard time focusing may choose a fidget band to keep their feet busy while their hands stay at work. Students who like to sit and work on the floor may choose a lap desk so they can sit anywhere in the class and be able to work.
I enjoy using flexible seating in my classroom because it allows students to choose what seating keeps them engaged and focused on their learning. Offering flexible seating in my class helps me create a classroom that is centered on student learning. Letting students choice their seating puts them in control of their physical and learning environment.
My students and I are very excited to bring flexible seating into our classroom!
