I am a fourth grade teacher at a Title I school. This means that a high majority of my students come from low income families. For many students, school is their safe place. It is where they can be authentic, a scholar, and truly act like a kid. As a teacher, my mission statement has always been to show students how empowering learning can be. I want them to believe in themselves and show that confidence when in and out of the classroom. All of my projects help meet students' different learning needs. Now more than ever students need a classroom environment that is safe, comforting and encourages explorations.
