The materials chosen for this project will be used to help students acquire the foundational skills needed in order for them to become more successful readers. These materials would primarily be used for students that are in need of interventions in reading. The boards will be used for them to practice writing and decoding words, sounds, and patterns. Additionally, the composition notebooks will also be used for them to create an interactive intervention notebook in order to write and practice the skills learned in class. Finally, the electric sharpener would facilitate the process of sharpening pencil in order for the students to complete their work.
