Prior to the pandemic, the classroom was set up with a computer area. Students shared computers and headphones and were able to either engage in online instructional programs or just take an earned break. Now that we are back to in-person instruction, all my students have their very own computers--which is really exciting! Throughout the day, students have the opportunity to work on a variety of platforms for reading, writing, math, and even social skills! Two of our new reading programs require headphones with a microphone--Unfortunately, these types of headphones were hard to come by, poor quality, and did not last long for some of my students.
Having quality wireless headphones will ensure my students' ability to complete their online reading and math programming with fidelity. Many of my students fidget with the headphone wires which, over time, ends up being the main reason they stop working. I have also had a few students accidentally break the headphone jacks inside their computer. I hope by having wireless headphones, problems like these will be avoided.
Since each student their own computer and pair of headphones, I do not have a place to store them properly. Throughout the day, headphones are often hanging off desks or are on the floor. The headphones I am asking to be donated come with a protective case for storage! This will be a lifesaver not only for added protection when not in use but they will fit in their desk or can be collected and stored safely!
