Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During work times, students really like having something different when working at their desk, with the teacher or in groups. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a different seating option.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a flexible seating to get their wiggles out and are rewarded for their hard work with incentives.
Also included in the project are student incentives. My students perform well with clear expectations and positive reinforcements. Classroom incentives are powerful tools that I use to maintain high expectations and reward expected behavior. By offering small tokens students have something to work towards. The incentives will encourage them to work harder and do their very best which in turn will improve learning outcomes.
