Before we left for summer break, some teachers asked their students what kind of equipment they would like for the recess yard and for PE. The students thought very carefully and mentioned new things for our PE class. Students named items like replacement basketball nets, baseball tees, a set of speakers to hear PE class and field day events better, as well as stopwatches and pool noodles to use during various games and activities. The younger grades wanted more team games, so the pool noodles and stopwatches can also help with their thoughts as well. Some of the second graders, for example, wanted to be able to time each other during races.
The older grades have requested better speakers to be able to listen to music when doing step aerobics or playing sports outside. They also explained how it would be beneficial on Field Day.
We are sure to have a great year! This school year might be unique, but I want my students to still enjoy school and be physically active whenever possible!
