Our young learners love to sit on the carpet! The carpet is inviting, and students can be in closer proximity to their teacher, peers, and the smartboard. Naturally, it feels more comfortable and personal to them than being at their desks.
We actually start out the day with Morning Circle on the carpet. That’s a time to focus on greeting each other and addressing social-emotional needs. We use the carpet throughout the day for reading stories, interactive writing, sharing ideas with their partners, math activities, singing songs, and English Language Development.
I am extremely embarrassed by my hand-me-down carpet that is terribly stained. We would feel so blessed if you would help us get a fresh new carpet!
