"Research suggests that optimal learning happens when children have the opportunity to use multiple senses, such as sight, sound and touch." And believe it or not, technology can be the perfect tool for addressing each of these senses and providing students with hands on learning experiences. The students in my classroom would be provided access to these iPads on a daily basis during literacy centers, math centers, and choice time. They will have the opportunity to learn their letters, numbers, and much more through engaging games and activities that will make them want to continue their learning. The use of these iPads will also allow my students to receive instruction that is tailored toward their individual needs, thus enriching their learning and boosting achievement. Our school believes in leadership, building independence amongst our students, and we use a center base approach for a lot of our instruction. We are looking to get iPads for our students to help with all of this.
I am a Kindergarten teacher in a general education setting. I will have 25 new, curious, and nervous students in my class this year. From learning online to coming back to school in-person can be overwhelming for any young child, but with the support of iPads in the classroom to foster student learning we can help create a fun, diverse, and hands-on learning environment.
