Over the last year, our district was able to provide two monitors for educators to work with during the remote learning time. It was truly incredible how much this improved my productivity as an educator from being able to enter grades efferently to having access to multiple resources at once, such as Google Slides open while also having their Google Doc lab sheets open as well. The result was a huge increase in time to put more of my efforts into teaching and less time devoted to prep and grading. Unfortunately, they were simply not able to maintain two monitors for each teacher and needed most of them to be placed elsewhere in the district once we were fully in-person.
Students benefit when teachers have the ability to put more time into their students' education. My goal is to maximize that time in order to create more engaging lessons as we transition to more in-person classroom time. I was able to experience the advantage of having that resource accessibility and I know what a difference it will make in my time management within my profession.
