The materials that I am requesting will help me motivate my students to stay engaged in the lesson and to get a pulse of their understanding for the math lesson without having to collect papers while maintaining social distancing. In the past it has been difficult to plan the use of dry erase boards for a lesson because not everyone will have their dry erase marker or board on hand. The game that I call "All 4 One" requires everyone to provide an answer on their dry erase board for a class point. When the class reaches a certain amount, the class will earn a reward that they will be voting on. The dry erase boards will serve as my classroom response system so that I can receive in class feedback in real time. Receiving class feedback during class time will help me to adapt the learning in the classroom rather than wait for their Homelearning.
This method of classroom response system will also promote collaborate learning. Students will also learn from viewing their peers' response helping me to facilitate a dialogue with the student who answered incorrectly, for example, or with the whole class in real time.
The dry erase board on an easel will provide an extra writing space in an area of the classroom that I will use to provide remediation. Visual learners will have a better understanding of what I am explaining to them if I show them directly. I also intend to have students utilize the dry erase easel to provide one on one peer instruction on the days that I plan for differentiated instruction.
