Since we have not had Spanish books for our students at our school in several years, I would like to ignite their interest in reading in Spanish so that they become confident readers. Reading in Spanish, both internally and out loud, greatly benefits students lives in the future after they leave our school. Having these books would help our students begin to develop necessary skills that will help them even in their daily lives. I would ideally like for students to be able to read along in read aloud style with the teacher and then be able to read out loud themselves when called upon to do so. The books will introduce many new words and worlds to the students that they necessarily have never been exposed to in their daily lives.
About my class
