Now more than ever, students and teachers within schools are looking for connection, relationships, for belonging. My classroom will be the first designated restorative space within EES, where all teachers, support staff, and students are welcome! Creating community and repairing harm in the time of the pandemic can be really tricky, and by donating to my room, you'll help me as I work with the whole school to create a culture of restorative relationships, caring, meeting needs, and providing safe and welcoming spaces for all. The books and other resources will be used to help students visualize what is possible within relationships, in addition to allowing all kiddos to see themselves in the media. The mirrors will be used for a self-reflection values wall, the mats are for a space in the room for quiet time and hard emotions and the hanging cloth will encourage a new culture of being together!
