This project is inspired by Peter Liljedahl's text, "Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics." My hope is to offer students frequent opportunities to engage with classmates in student-driven tasks via group-work. More flexible seating options in my classroom will allow for this type of engagement whilst still complying with the COVID-19 restrictions that our county has implemented (students must be at least 3 feet away from one another at any given time.)
My students desperately need opportunities to not only learn from myself, but from one another. And these flexible seating options will allow for that type of rich interaction.
