As a special education teacher, I am teaching my students based on their individual needs. Some students need more help with academic tasks such as reading, writing, and math (specifically money) skills. On the other hand, other students might need instruction on social emotional skills, how to process their emotions or emotions they are seeing in others, how to cook or clean in a house, or how to find a job best fit for them and fill out an application. Much of my work is tailored directly to the needs of each of my learners, which can make it difficult to find and afford such a wide variety of materials. Many materials I’ve found from Teachers Pay Teachers, which is a wonderful source to get new and up to date materials that my students find engaging. And yes, occasionally they admit they are having a little fun, too.
