I feel that the materials that I have collected, and those that would be donated, for use in my classroom will be beneficial to teaching my students valuable lessons outside of their curriculum. Understanding diversity within our current world is something that has its highs and lows. It can also be a subject that can be hard to explain to a young population. My job as a role model for my students and others within the community is to teach about acceptance and be open minded to others beliefs, race, color, or creed.
We all should have a purpose in life to grow together to better the world. The books and diversified seating arrangements that I will use in my classroom will be able to show examples of how diversity can come together for a common purpose. In an easy to understand way, it will show my students that we may not be cut from the same cloth but we are woven together to create something beautiful.
