All of the items in this project will help to spark engagement in my classroom. Although many of these may seem like common items, working in a low income district means we do not always have access to these things.
All of the items in this project help to accommodate the many modalities of learning and prompt students to engage with the content in different and meaningful ways. By providing my students with headphones and lap desks, you are giving them opportunities to work independently in an environment that will stimulate their minds. By providing them with wobble cushions, you are helping them to stay focused even while they are filled with energy. By providing them with art supplies such as colored pencils, markers, and glue sticks, you are making it possible for us to complete hands-on engaging craft activities. By providing them with individual white boards, the big box of words, and the reading dice, you are giving them opportunities to engage with our content in ways that are different from the norm, and that will help the students by prompting them to think about the material in a new and fun way.
