Our district is committed to equity for every student learner, in our academic instruction and social emotional learning. As part of this initiative we are working to ensure equity in our social emotional supports by diversifying our Social Emotional Learning library. The texts we have chosen will help us model and explore strategies for tackling challenges and building community. Both fiction and nonfiction titles feature protagonists from diverse backgrounds and are written by award-winning authors and illustrators. Themes covered include empathy, building positive relationships, recognizing and managing emotions, problem-solving, perseverance, perspective-taking.
