Students will be using the materials purchased to create hand poured soaps to be sold or donated in our community. Students will learn the process of pouring soap, adding colors and scents using a variety of molds. They will learn to create products from custom orders, and they will create a variety of types of soap to sell as a fundraiser for our Community Based Instruction trips. Students will package the soap by sealing and labeling each bar into a personalized bag.
While doing this, students will learn to create a product, communicate effectively with others and manage money by tracking our expenses and money that we earn. They will market the soap, track orders using a google form, create the products and deliver or ship the orders as part of their job skills instruction. This will allow our students to learn new job skills that they can apply to life after graduating high school.
