The materials requested for this project will be used towards our daily life skills practice. My students have been working so hard and learning about life skills during the school day. Some of these skills have been applied to real life experiences, and that is where our Mobile Coffee Cart will come into play. Our students will first learn about what it takes to run a mobile coffee cart and all the pieces to the puzzle that make it run efficiently.
Having a classroom coffee cart will help our students work on a range of vital skills that will be beneficial for them when they go into the world of work one day. We will be working together as a team, applying for jobs, running the coffee cart, fulfilling orders, handling money, and so much more!
We will be running our coffee cart weekly on Fridays and deliver to teachers' rooms. To keep things simple for our kiddos while first starting out, students will use the coffee pot and make a Starbucks Medium blend option. They will also be making tea using the tea bags bags. There will be creamer, sugars, and coffee biscuits as well. Once our kiddos get the hang of the coffee cart, we will practice exchanging money with our customers. Each item on our coffee cart will be no more than $1.00 and any money received will go towards replenishing supplies for our coffee cart. This a great new adventure for our students and I can't wait for them to start!
