My students will use these resources to improve their knowledge of the Common Core standards. Students will have the opportunity to improve their reading and writing skills through the stories they read. I want the lessons that are taught to the students to be inspiring and motivational where they want to participate with their fellow classmates. Students learn more when they have a topic they are interested in. The articles and resources from Teachers Pay Teachers would help me create lesson plans for the students while they learn these interesting horror stories.
I recently found out that the students in my class love the horror genre, but they often do not get the chance to explore this during the year. I want to be able to teach them a topic of their interest while still meeting all of their standard goals for the trimester! I believe my students' reading and writing skills will improve a lot since they will keep focused on a task that they are interested in. The story Nightbooks by J.A. White is perfect for students who have trouble with writer's block!
