My students are noticeably more engaged and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of fun hands-on activities. Every year, our students have weeks of indoor recess thanks to hazardous air quality (smoke) and/or inclement weather (too hot or too cold). LEGOs are a classroom favorite, and keeps kids minds and bodies engaged. LEGOs can also be used during math intervention as a visual fraction model. Due to COVID rules, each student must have his or her own supplies, and unfortunately we are short on hands-on fun for all.
