Labs are an essential part of a good biology class. Students learn to ask questions, develop hypotheses, and test those hypotheses through lab experiences. Some materials for labs need to be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. We use chemicals for blood typing, produce from grocery stores for DNA extraction and photosynthesis experiments, and some animal specimens that need to be stored in a refrigerator. We do not currently have a refrigerator in our lab. A refrigerator would help enhance student learning by allowing us to store essential supplies for their lab experiences.
