This project is meant to engage students in a culturally relevant way that uses LEGO materials that are well known to students. Students will go home to learn about their heritage by listening to family and come back to the classroom ready to share and place themselves on the map. Physically marking the LEGO map with different colors and visually representing where we are from. I hope over time to revisit our map and engage each student to connect with others about our own traditions and learn about others. Students can share as much or as little as they want, to differentiate the project to meet each student's needs. I am so excited to be able to use this, change it, and adapt it over the years.
