Our students follow a curriculum that is referred to as life skills or domain areas. Of course, we still teach literacy and mathematics, which we refer to as Functional Academics, but we also teach personal maintenance, recreation and leisure, interpersonal communication, and domestic maintenance. The last domain area, domestic maintenance, is why we are asking for your assistance. Right before Covid happened the school district finished our home economics room; an efficiency apartment within a school; complete with a kitchen, laundry, living room, and bedroom areas. All the big-ticket items were supplied but now we need your help to maximize the full potential of this room for our students. Help us teach them an everyday important life skill by getting them cooking.
