My students will love having a calm, sensory based corner in my room where they can take a break to calm down, get sensory feedback and relax. They will utilize the space to practice social skills that we teach in special ed including strategies to calm down. Malvern Elementary is a Title 1 school in McKinney and we have many students as young as 5 years old enrolling that are diagnosed with mental illness and I serve many students in special education for behavioral disorders. My Students will love a Sensory Spot in my Special Ed Room!
