As a first year teacher in a brand new dual-language program, I am asking for help in supporting our students and their learning needs. Building blocks and Lincoln logs help with children's brain development, creativity, physical development, and critical thinking skills via quality play. The kitchen set, play food, table, and chairs will drive dramatic play. This teaches children social-emotional skills along with higher order thinking, and enables them to learn about their likes and dislikes. The Spanish books are critical to teaching students reading fundamentals without overwhelming them with their secondary language. Our reading area will also function as a quiet, calming, sensory space for students who are on the autism spectrum.
Your donation to our project will not only help improve and increase our students' attention and focus, it will ultimately help increase their academic achievement. Each and every item on our list will benefit children's learning experiences. As a whole, these materials support the majority of our students' emotional development and social skills. Children will also have access to toys that engage their senses, provide feedback to their sensory systems, and regulate their sensory needs.
