Kindergarten students learn best through play and real life experiences. These sensory tubs will offer a tactile learning opportunity for students. Sensory tub exploration offers various benefits to a child's development.
Play is the highest form of research and learning for children. Our students will be engaged in exploration that encourages their fine motor skills, socialization and communication skills, language development, as well as being a resource for children to help regulate their emotions. Our students will have ample time to explore and will then connect our literacy work directly to their experiences. As a class, we will read rich literature about play and characters who play in different ways, discuss our time playing, and finally, the students will draw and write about their play experience.
