We started this program with zero equipment, money and players, but over the last 3 years we have managed to gain players that have grown along the way; we are still looking for equipment.
We lack basic equipment to be able to practice. The players have learned so much baseball over 2 years, but the learning would take off this year if we could get basic equipment. I have requested a pitching machine so my players can practice.
With the proper practice equipment, even equipment as basic as baseballs, whiffle balls, gloves, and baseball pants, these players will be able to stay at practice, work during the off season, and gain more skills and knowledge for the game they love.
The inner city has seen a decline in baseball participation over the last couple of decades. Money is the biggest reason why it has dropped. With proper funding and equipment the boys at our high school can continue to learn the game they are growing to love!
