My students would benefit from sensory tools and fidgets to keep them calm and focused. Fidgets provide a calming effect on children and allow them to self-regulate their emotions by eliminating stress and anxiety.
Giving my students tools to stay calm and focused will allow them to be successful in their education. Only after students' emotional needs are met can we meet their academic needs. Children from low socioeconomic status deserve the opportunity to eliminate their distractions and stress so they can excel in their learning. Pop it bubble toys, be happy! stress balls, and textured stretchy strings help improve coordination and fine motor skills. Balance balls will provide alternative seating so students can move and concentrate on learning simultaneously. Students will choose fidgets from the fidget bin to help them engage in learning daily.
