Sitting in a classroom for 6 hours a day on a hard chair in front of a cold desk is not the most ideal place to work for student learning. Having bean bag seats would give my students a variety of seating options that would allow students to feel more comfortable and ready to learn. Many of my students would be able to move around and change their seat choice based on the activity we are doing. Their organization skills and behaviors would improve tremendously, since there would be limited places to shove unfinished papers or play with toys they are hiding in their desks.
With additional flexible seating, students would be able to work independently in their seat choice when needed, but could also move furniture around when they need to based on given tasks.
Students need to be comfortable in their learning environment to actually learn. Flexible seating would help them achieve this goal on a daily basis.
