The necessity of reading is still very much alive and well--even in the high school setting. As students mature, experience life, and navigate the young-adult stages it is imperative that they be able to turn to literature and see themselves represented. The books requested will be used to offer student-choice reading in hopes that students find a passion and enthusiasm for reading and learning.
In our class, we spend time doing independent reading, where students are allowed to choose the book that interests them most. These materials will enable all students to have a free, in-class option. The classroom library allows students to browse books freely, read a few pages and scan, and feel comfortable in checking out a book with their teacher.
Thank you all for considering a donation to our classroom library!
