The way I see it, everyone is a visual learner (pun totally intended!). When students have communication difficulties, they rely even more on what they see in order to process and figure out the world. I will use the TV and Apple TV in order to display lessons and content to my students on a larger screen. This way, my entire group of speech therapy students can engage with and interact with the material. This would look like playing a digital board game together, reading a digital book together, or researching a topic they find interesting.
A big screen would enhance communication in a big way. It would allow me to show content and therapy materials to my students that I have not been able to previously. Let's face it, a whiteboard is cool, but think of the million ways I could use the computer on the TV!
