My students have had only limited exposure to science in elementary and middle school, so they are finding it challenging to understand concepts of high school Biology. By giving my students the opportunity to "play" with science through the use of projects, labs, and hands on activities, they are able to better understand scientific concepts. Students will be given the chance to explore and take ownership of their own learning experiences. Experiences like these are essential for high-energy, visual, and kinesthetic learners. The supplies I am requesting will "pull science off the page" and give my students a chance to experience science in the real world rather than reading it in a textbook or listening to a boring lecture.
