Yes, robots are fun. But they’re much more than tools of amusement. They are perfect for learning critical thinking skills. By using a series of challenges like a maze, students are forced to innovate, collaborate and test.
Gaining this skill set in Technology class is highly valuable especially when applying it in to math and science. I’ll introduce the idea of programming during ‘Hour of Code’ this December. Kindergartners will get the opportunity to see and experience the mouse robot maneuvering through the maze. The Dash boys intended for upper grades students will also be used for the same purpose. By the end of the unit, students will code their very own program!
