In our second-grade classroom, many students have not been in school due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As students return, safety is a top priority. To maintain social distancing, chair pockets will be a necessity to store materials.
Equally as important is the feeling of belonging and security that a spot just for you invokes. Throughout the pandemic, students have faced unimaginable challenges and losses. We hope that school is a haven for students. By providing spaces that are just for them, students see that they belong here. Donations to our classroom chair pockets will be used to lessen transition time, maintain social distancing, but, most of all, show students that this space is for them.
