Our band program has grown exponentially as we have embraced culturally relevant teaching practices. Our local school community works diligently to support our students by ensuring equitable access to quality education. We are grateful for this opportunity to supply our students with their basic class essentials while alleviating the financial stress on our socio-economically disadvantaged families. Our Jazz program is in it's 2nd year and we are looking to outfit the rhythm section with legitimate instruments. Currently, they are using very old, in some cases 3/4 sized "mini" guitar/bass, or beat up equipment that needs to be replaced. Jazz is one of the best "culturally relevant" musical content to incorporate into our curriculum as Jazz is the only true American art form.
